August 2025 Astrology

August 2025

Apologies! This was set to post August 1st but obviously there was a glitch. Oh Mercury retrograde!

The Astrology of August 2025 gives us the 1st whole month with the outer planets in their new signs. I have several videos on Neptune in Aries, Uranus in Gemini and Jupiter in Cancer. And of course Pluto who moved into Aquarius last November.

Neptune and Saturn will officially conjunct in February of 2026 at 0 degrees of Aries. Even going way back, millennia, there is no date of this conjunction at 0 degrees of Aries. They have been close since they both arrived in Aries, and definitely in orb of a conjunction. Thankfully, they have stationed retrograde quite quickly so the energy is not as strong. But it’s a good rehearsal for the exact conjunction of 2026 when Saturn swings by Neptune on February 20th, both direct.

These 2 do not meld well. Neptune is a visionary. We have lofty ideals of compassion, but feel weighted by Saturn who is the reality check, eye for detail, and the nitty gritty. Aries is individualistic and wants to start things, initiate and lead. With Neptune it’s all about ideals and the grand ideas. But Saturn is about going slowly and building solidly.

“I want to save the world.”

“Start by cleaning your room.”

Don’t forget Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius are trining each other and sextiling Neptune and Saturn. There’s a lot of flowing energy but at the same time a lot of moving parts. It’s as if we can see what we want but are struggling to get there.

Sun, Moon and Personal Planets

I’ve been talking a lot about the outer planets so let’s take a closer look this month our luminaries and personal planets. They are the ones who influence is the most because their effect is more direct and individual. Outer planets tend to have a collective and generational influence.

We’re headed into Virgo season and focus on the 6th house as the Sun arrives on the 21st. For all of us it’s the back to school vibe, or back to work if you’ve been off work for the summer or had vacation time.  This is leaving the hedonism of Leo and the 5th house: having fun, entertainment, indulging in summer pleasures. It’s summer romance, fun with a romantic partner or children. Just enjoying oneself more and taking (or having) the time for activities and creative pursuits.

Virgo has us getting organized,  We’re getting back to a schedule. Virgo likes a system that works and the 6th is work, our workplace and workload. This includes academic work and unpaid work, so other jobs and duties where you have to show up. It’s also physical health and the body. Maybe paying attention to diet and exercise after summer over indulgences. It’s also our pets. Some have been away and now reunited with their fur babies.

Sun

The Sun, as I mentioned above , arrives in Virgo on the 21st.  There’s an esthetic to Virgo, an attention to detail and minutiae. We’re making lists and annotating planners. We want to be organized (Tuesdays I visit the gym, Wednesdays I visit the pastry shop). Until then we’re still enjoying those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer, as Nat King Cole sang. Leo is fun, children, romantic partners and all forms of entertainment from sports to music festivals.

Moon

The Moon is full on the 9th at 17 degrees of Aquarius, while the Sun is still across on Leo. An opposition between individuality and group. Leo is the sign of royalty, the one and only, ruling sovereign over his or her domain.  Aquarius is all about the group. Aquarius accepts differences, in fact the varied the better, but also looks to the good of the whole. All together now! You may feel torn between having to be you and pressure from a social circle. Maybe you’ve been off doing your summer thing and the group or club is wondering if you’re coming back.

By the 23rd the Moon is in Virgo,  along with the Sun and it’s a new Moon. At 0 degrees of Virgo this a most powerful New Moon. 0 degrees is a beginning, a start. It’s potential.  It’s  an invitation to start all over, or completely renew or reinvent.

But it can have an immature energy also and can be extreme. Just a word of caution before doing something drastic. But do set an intention because almost anything is possible. And listen to your intuition. In my August astrology I look at where this is for each sign. And Just remember Mercury is still in retrograde cycle until the 25th so don’t start or launch until afterward.

Mercury

Mercury remains in Leo all month, where he’s been since stationing retrograde on July 18th. He’ll turn direct on the 11th, but remember the shadow is not over until the 25th. While the energy is lifting there is still potential for mix ups, misunderstandings and errors. Something that is agreed on will change or fall through. In the August monthly astrology I go through where this is for each sign. But remember Mercury affects all communication and agreements, things related to commerce and ground transport.

Venus

Venus is in Cancer until the 25th. For all of us this is wanting to cocoon at home, cosy and safe. Spending time with family members, whether related by blood or those you call family. Venus also like to spend on beautiful things. So you will have the desire to buy some beautiful, luxurious item for your home, or maybe refinish or redecorate. Just remember Mercury rules contracts and agreements, written or verbal, so makes sure things are clear and preferable in writing. Also wait closer to the 25th if you can.

Then Venus joins Mercury in Leo.  The confusion of the retrograde is over, we’re back to all systems go. If there were misunderstandings and disagreements because of Mercury mix-ups, Venus will smooth it all over. Venus is Leo is warm moments with children and romantic partners. A romance can begin or deepen at this time.

Mars

Mars moves into Libra on the 6th and is there well into next month, in fact until the 22nd of September. While Libra strives for balance, Mars is energy, drive and ego. Mars is single minded and focused on a goal.

In the 7th house, we are intense about one-on-one partnerships, wether committed life partner or business partner. Maybe we have ideas to take the relationship further. We can also be very forthright in addressing what isn’t working and even easily feeling offended. Just remember this is Mars and the ego talking. Also remember there are other people involved here as well, something Mars forgets!

The 7th is also exes, rivals and competition. Beware things becoming conflictual, as Mars won’t back down. At the same time if you need that oomph of assertiveness to set limits and let people know where you stand, now is the time.

New Reality Test Run

We’re in the new energy of Air and Fire until October 22nd when Neptune, on retrograde, returns to Pisces and wraps things up for another 165 years. Neptune is strong there as the modern ruler and I expect something intense as Neptune prepares to leaves for over a century. I speculated that the idea of ‘influencer’ will wane as the power of illusion of Neptune and the ‘all is one’ energy of Pisces becomes individualized in Aries. We will see. Let me know your thoughts and don’t forget to watch your forecast for August. Take care,
