February 2026 astrology

February 2026 astrology sees some significant changes and, with that in mind, I want to focus on Saturn and Neptune now both and Aries. We’ll start by looking at the Sun, Moon  and personal planets that are all piled up in one sign, but I won’t go into detail on this. I leave that to the astrology video, sign by sign, on my YouTube.

I do want to dive a little deeper into Saturn and Neptune. Their arrival in Aries is significant in terms of rarity of transit and also their conjunction, but additionally that this conjunction is at 0° of Aries, something that has not happened since pre-christian times.

Everybody Into Aquarius

In the first week on February, there is still a 5 planet pile-up in Aquarius.  So we all continue to be  intensely focused on one particular aspect of our lives. What’s particular in this case, and the reason we have so many planets there, is that Pluto is also in Aquarius and will be until 2044. That adds a layer of power and control issues being explored in this one particular house.

So our focus and ‘self’ are there, as if we are in one room of our house, really taking a look at things. That’s the Sun. Mercury has us thinking about it and looking at options. Venus sees this through the lens of relationships, are they serving us or not? Mars makes us forthright and confident. If something is not to our liking Mars will speak up. And of course Pluto asks us to examine where we stand in our power and where we give away control.

For all of us this is about the group: groups we belongs to such as organizations or teams, or ally with, or are informally a part of, like our social circle. It is the people, the grass roots organizations, at the base of the Capricornian pyramid of the 10th house. This is 11th house stuff, ‘power to the people’. Is this online for you? In person? Do you want take a stand and declare you’re an allegiance or break away because you don’t feel you belong anymore? Aquarius brings forward thinking, really out there forward thinking. Most Aquarians are nonjudgmental and nothing is too weird for them. Astrology Georgia Nicols says all Aquarians are 20 years ahead of their time. Aquarius also has a rebellious streak.

Mercury leaves on the 6th, followed by Venus on the 10th, but there is a full Moon across on the 1st.  This is individual self expression, our sovereign being versus the group with their written and unwritten rules. There is inevitably a sense of conformity in a group, even if it’s a group about non-conformity.

Mercury Retrograde

Mercury retrogrades for the first time of 2026 from February 26th at 22° of Pisces to  March 20th at 8° of Pisces. But remember the whole cycle is from February 12th to April 9th. Because with Mercury retrograde we can’t ignore the shadow periods.

By now you should know the drill. Avoid buying ground transportation, tech devices and entering into agreements. Mercury rules negotiations and contracts as they are based on communication. Also commerce. Expect that whatever is agreed on, even if it seems sure, can change or fall through. Try to avoid signing anything until the cycle completes. People or situations can also come back, even if you don’t want them too! Mercury wants us to tie up loose ends.

On the up side, Mercury retrograde is excellent to wrap up old business, finish off projects that have been sitting. Just avoid launching anything. You can do research and review, but wait until the whole cycle completes before putting something new out there.

Wherever this is in your chart is particularly prone to miscommunications and the past replaying. Or people indicated by that house coming back into the picture. But also look for old projects that can be completed, or old situations that can be settled.

Venus

Venus joins Mercury in Pisces on the 10th, where she is exalted. That house is really favored, whether money, relationships or beauty. Maybe a windfall, intense romance or buying a luxury item.  My video goes into where this is for each sign.

Sun

The Sun arrives in Pisces on the 18th. Our focus now shifts. But whatever we are looking at or trying to fine tune is hampered by Mercury. Information isn’t clear so don’t be down on yourself if you can’t make up your mind right away.

Moon

There’s a new Moon on the 17th at 28° of Aquarius. After the intense energy there, most of us will have an intention to set! Do so, because there is only 1 new Moon per sign, meaning per house, in the year.

Mars

Mars stays back in Aquarius all month, arriving in Pisces on March 2nd. That drive and energy continues in one area. It’s always important to know where Mars is because we have energy and confidence there. Mars is also our ego, and we can easily feel attacked. Good to keep in mind. At the same time it’s the assertiveness to stand up for ourselves and settle a situation.

Saturn and Neptune and the Big Reset

I have 7 videos now (I believe!) on Saturn and Neptune. I’ve speculated that Neptune, leaving Pisces, could mean at the end of the influencer, in Aries we could see strong leader but also false prophets. I’ve cautioned about their combined energies. Saturn and Neptune together can be discouraging energy because Neptune gives us an ideal, but Saturn is the cold harsh reality check. Although working together, we can have a great vision that we can make real.

The bigger story is the conjunction of these two at 0° of Aries on February 20th. A Saturn-Neptune conjunction isn’t incredibly rare event. In fact it happens every 36 years. It brings about geopolitical change in terms of ideology, leadership and even geographical borders. Saturn is limitations and parameters. Neptune is dissolution of boundaries and a visionary quality.

Aries is cardinal fire, the very first sign of the chart. There’s a pioneering, initiating energy to Aries that drives to begin things and creates strong leaders that are often relatively young. I’ve speculated that this could be a very charismatic leader with a strong ideology. And because Aries is concerned with self identity, we’ll all be aligned with our beliefs. We won’t just believe it, we will be it.

Historically

The last time Saturn and Neptune met was 1989. This was the fall of the Berlin wall. The division between East and West, communism and capitalism, began dissolving. The iron curtain was taken down. It was the end of the USSR. Countries from the Soviet Block broke away and became eastern Europe. Some even broke apart. Who can remember Yugoslavia? Czechoslovakia?

Before that was 1952. We saw Queen Elizabeth II ascend to the throne. Definite change in leadership. Now a young woman was wearing the crown. Her coronation was the first ever to be televised. Up into that point royalty was only seen in person or in photographs. Maybe some grainy movie film. The only people witnessing a coronation would be those there in person. Now that boundary fell away and millions of people across the world watched the ceremony.

Jonas Salk invented the polio vaccine. Neptune rules viruses, as they are unseen and unconfined. Saturn is limitations.

Going back another 36 years we’re in 1917. It’s the Russian Revolution. this marks the end of Royal rule in Russia with the murder of tsar Nicolas II and the new Bolshevik ideology. It is the beginning of communism. Change of leader and change of ideology.

0° Aries

This conjunction at 0° Aries is a big deal because it’s the very start of the chart. Not only will these two together bring the changes I’ve mentioned above, but an idea of a brand new beginning as it’s at the very first degree of the wheel. While I’ve talked about past Saturn-Neptune conjunctions, they weren’t in Aries. Astrologer Jessica Davidson tells us the last one in Aries goes back to March 28th, 1703 at 11° of Aries. The closest to 0° is 594BCE, on the 11th of March, at 2°. You can read her excellent astrology here.

An online search shows (according to AI) that this exact conjunction happened 9000 years ago, about 7000 BCE, when humans discovered agriculture and became sedentary. From there, communities evolved, then villages, towns, and cities. We haven’t changed this mode living, we’re still sedentary.

For Us

What can this mean for us? A change in borders would not surprise me at all. We could see something happen with Greenland, either with the US or another presence. The limit between Canada’s north and Russia’s north, although not in the media, is an issue as Russia is creating a stronger presence there. Where does Canada stop? Where does Russia start? And what’s considered international waters? Remember, Neptune is related to water. Greenland is an island. I also wouldn’t be surprised to see Canada’s geography change with talks of independence from Alberta and Quebec.

But more than the changes we’ve seen historically, at 0° Aries I expect something even more fundamental to our reality and how we live as humans. Could this be alternate or parallel reality of AI? Rather than evolving into bigger and bigger communities as we saw eons ago, could we return to living in isolation, each of us in our virtual bubble?

Whatever it is, it will bear the hallmarks of strong leadership, pushing an ideology or a vision that is utopic. But remember Neptune is also deception and confusion. Saturn’s eye for detail will help us see through what is real and what isn’t and who has a hidden agenda. At the same time, we could feel disillusioned and confused. Saturn can bring a sense of isolation. Neptune is irreality, so we’re having trouble distinguishing what is real and what isn’t. AI isn’t helping.

Of course, my speculation is limited to my knowledge and I do try to avoid the news, but if you have any other examples, please drop them in the comments. Be well,
