On January 19th of 2022, the North Node will move into Taurus and the South Node into Scorpio. Taurus is a fixed sign evolving on the earthly plane. It is the sign of the senses and the tangible. Astrologer Georgia Nicols says Taureans like good food, good wine, good sex in a nice place to live. Taurus also rules currency, as it is related to the second house of our revenues. That is money and, in the larger sense, our valuables or what we value in the physical dimension. Think back to when people traded goods and objects.
Scorpio is about intense one-on-one relationships. Scorpio evolves on an emotional plane but shares the fixed quality of Taurus. Scorpios want to get to the heart of feelings, they want intense emotional connection. Scorpio is related to the 8th house of money that comes through others: a partner, a loan, a mortgage. It also rules death and moneys related to that: wills, testaments, legacies. Taurus wants physical comfort and to accumulate wealth, whatever that looks like for you. Taurus is the farmer of the zodiac and will take the time and let the seeds grow and reap the harvest. No sign is more fixed, has more stamina or can play the long game better than a Taurus.
South Node Scorpio brings the ability to look deep and transform. Scorpios tend to hangout in the backdrop, observing. But when they change it up, it's drastic. The downside is a tendency to be dark and brooding and prone to negativity. All signs have a downside. Our natal South Node give us the gifts of that sign, its abilities and at the same time wants us to release the bad habits of that sign.
North Node Taurus wants us to use that ability to sow, wait and reap. We must release the subconscious world and enter the physical, into our immediate environment. To take what we've learned and where we've evolved and to make things happen in a tangible way. To build security and abundance. This energy wants us to release the desire to look inside and to operate only on ourselves. North Node in Taurus wants us to use our self-knowledge to create tangible gains. To not revert to going within and changing but to hold things steady and wait for the harvest.

I’m somewhere close to 30 000 words, just on my blogs! The stat blew me away. Plus prepping a book for publication and finishing book 2.

I want to thank all of you who read, like and comment on my blogs. What started out as a way to improve my writing and share my ideas, especially on meditation and manifesting, has become a weekly check-in where I look forward to sharing with you.

1. Surviving the Survivors by Ruth Klein

Ruth Klein’s parents were Polish Jews who survived the Holocaust. Both were irreparably damaged and inflicted their trauma on their children. A tragic story.

2. Ru by Kim Thuy

Kim Thuy left Vietnam with her family as one of the thousands of boat people who came to Canada. The story moves between her memories of her childhood in Vietnam, arriving in Canada as a refugee and present day life.

3. How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big: Kind of the Story of My Life by Scott Adams

If you read last week’s non-fiction November blog you know that I’m a big Scott Adams fan and recommended Win Bigly: Persuasion in a World Where Facts Don’t Matter. Adams talks about the importance of setting up systems as opposed to goals how to develop your skill set. He also has an interesting take on the part manifestation and just plain dumb luck play in success.

But there’s a lesson here also: never miss an opportunity to learn and build your skill stack. Adams went from a job in corporate America to one of the best know comic strip creators. Mostly because when opportunity arrived, he was ready.

4. The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath

The Bell Jar is Plath’s semi autobiographical story of a young woman suffering from depression. Told in the first person narrative, it begins when 19-year-old Esther wins a month-long internship at a magazine in New York and continues upon her return home to New England. It’s a perfect ‘show don’t tell’ narrative where the reader, from their objective standpoint, sees what is happening even if the character doesn’t. Sadly, Plath committed suicide at the age of 30.

Mercury has now joined Mars is Scorpio and both are squaring Saturn in Aquarius. A few posts back was about Mars moving into Scorpio, a sign he is in rulership in. It pointed to secrets being revealed, digging deep, especially on/in the emotional field.
Now Mercury is there too, pushing us to be curious, to investigate and compare. Mercury also rules commnication so 'getting the word out' on shady goings on.
But Saturn is square, wanting us to slow down, follow the rules. A Saturn/Mars square is one foot on the gas and the other on the brake.
But Mars the Motor and Small Mighty Mercury are going to kick some butt.
The square between Mars and Saturn will still be felt until the start of next week, but Mercury will have zipped out of this pattern by Friday.

I think a lot of us confuse fulfilled with plain old filled. Filling your schedule, filling your days, filling your time is not fulfillment. Busy is not fulfilled. Busy is keeping yourself occupied.

If quantity trumps quality, if your motto is something like “As long as I keep moving I’ll be OK”, if sitting still makes you twitch, perhaps this is you. And then there’s the need to share it; telling everyone everything you’re doing. There’s a validation component here that’s important. Where does the need to validate comes from? Doubt. The suspicion that running flat out all the time isn’t how it was meant to be.

Perpetual movement belies questing. And a quest is a search. No sooner is one thing done the next must be started. The search continues. Satisfaction is short-lived. Eventually it disappears.

Life shouldn’t be a constant uphill climb. It should have plateaus. You reach one, stand there, look at how far you’ve come, feel proud, maybe have a nap and then clamber onto the next one.

I worked with an old-timer who used to say, "Sometimes ya just gotta sit on a stump and think." His hobby was carpentry so I suspect he may have had an actual stump available somewhere, probably sanded and beautifully finished, without the risk of something slimy crawling across your lap.
Getting in touch with yourself is like having coffee with yourself. Would you scroll your phone? Pull out a book? No, you sit and listen.
But we don’t want to poke around there, and if so, not that much. We'll define our responses in a generalized, blanket way. "Oh that doesn’t sit well with me." "I’m not sure how I feel (yes you are)." "I don’t really want to worry about that." The block to sitting alone with yourself is what you're afraid you'll hear. It's what we don't want know, don't want to face. We don't want to deal with whatever is going on.I’ve always said all answers lie inside us we know that we know we just don’t want to hear it. So take a deep breath, go sit with yourself and explore how you really feel about whatever it is that comes to mind. Because that’s going be what needs your attention
