I love working on smaller canvasses, as a challenge to create ‘big’ art in a smaller format. Despite its size, The Beach I is full of color and warmth. It reminds of sun, sand and surf. These beautiful small artworks are perfect to brighten up a dull corner or a narrow wall. They also sit nicely on a mantle or bookshelf, and they work well in a set.
The Beach I measures 6″x6″.

The 1.5″ deep Gallery canvas does not require a frame. It is varnished in a satin finish to protect it. It is shown in the direction I see it, but as it is square you can hang it in the direction you want. The sides of this painting are painted also in the style of the front, for a ‘wrap-around’ effect. Identifying information is inscribed on the back (Name, Artist, Date, Materials). A Certificate of Authenticity is included.

I paint intuitively, never knowing exactly how a piece will turn out or what it will become. I start with a shape or a color, and go from there. My motivation is I am motivated by achieving a work that is vibrant in color but subtle and nuanced, appearing one way from far but with more to discover as you get closer. A metaphor, perhaps, for events we face and people we meet.

PACKAGING:
Item ships in a box and it packaged securely with protective packaging materials. Painting surface is protected with a sheet of glassine, an acid free archival quality paper.

La toile a 1.5” (4cm) de profondeur, donc un  cadre n’est pas nécessaire. Cette toile a un verni mat et le fil est installé, donc prêt à accrocher.
