February 2024 Astrology
The Astrology of February 2024 is again about Pluto settling into Aquarius for a 20 year transit. Conjunctions to Mercury, Mars and Venus will show us the changes Pluto wants to bring to empower us in whatever area of our lives he is transiting.
The Sun and Pluto arrived in Aquarius on January 20th and the Sun will conjunct a New Moon on the 9th. On the 16th, 17th, 18th, 5 planets will be in Aquarius, the sign that is about groups, communities, equality, humanitarianism and also technology and visionary ideas. Expect the next decades to be a power to the people shift and to see technological changes that are hard to imagine. Aquarius is very futuristic, and is sometimes seen as quirky or weird. Most Aquarians think outside the box, nothing is too strange.

From my January Astrology blog: None of us experience Pluto through all the signs in one lifetime. And once Pluto has left a sign/house, he is gone for life. There is a karmic quality about Pluto in that he will only transit certain signs and houses in our life. Approximately 6, depending on length of transit and where Pluto is at birth (start of a sign, end or somewhere in the middle).
I’m going to use the sign by sign overview format. Tell me if you like this better, or an overall astrology blog, planet by planet. I’ve been experimenting with both.
Aquarius
Pluto will spend 20 years in your sign, Aquarius. This month there is also the Sun, a New Moon, Mercury, Mars and Venus in your 1st house. If you are Aquarius Sun, this is you, your individuality, personality. It’s your face, reputation, online profile and physical appearance. It is where others see you.
If this is your Rising it is the face you present to the world, the mask. It is also how you expect others to be (they won’t). Here the 1st house is more private. It is what is happening with you but less visible to others. It’s where you play your cards close to the chest, as the saying goes.
Pluto here for 20 years transforms you and inevitably, all areas of life. It is about where you have power, where you give it away, what is not working. What does not empower, who or what controls you, will be done away with. Pluto will not let you fool yourself because Pluto shows the shadow side, the bad side of what we may tell ourselves is a good thing. The conjunctions to Mercury, Mars and Venus will be indicators of where the issues lie, different facets of the same story. These are the first chapters.
Pisces
Pisces, February Astrology has 5 planets in your hidden, inner-self house. Pluto is going to have you exploring what -within you- has you feeling empowered or weakened. Patterns? Unconscious habits? Negative mindset? What have you absorbed and internalized over the years that is now a modus operandi?
Pluto functions on a deep internal level. It is all about freeing the mind from the mindset. It may or may not show on the outside. 12th house issues usually remain secret, although others may guess at what has happened by your words or actions. But you will feel transformed inwardly and that will radiate outwards. Dare I say it will be life changing.
Aries
It’s all about the group, Aries, the social circle, including teams, organizations, communities either online or in person. Just note, close friends are put in the 5th house, or sometimes 7th. This is more friends with common interests who meet up for said interest.
Pluto is there, along with the Sun, New Moon, Mercury, Mars and Venus. This is also the part of the chart that relates to hopes and wishes. As Mercury, Mars and Venus conjunct Pluto you will be given clues as to Pluto’s power and control shifts over the next 20 years. Is the group empowering you or controlling you? Is it time to find another circle? To step into your power and change your relating style? The same goes for long term goals. You have years to reach the mark, but it begins with a step (to paraphrase the saying). Or maybe you’ve outgrown a dream, maybe it wasn’t even yours to begin with, and you are setting your sights on something new.
Taurus
Pluto and the Sun sit at the highest point in your chart. The Sun for 1 month, every year at this time, Pluto for the next 20 years. They are joined by Mercury, a New Moon, Mars and Venus. February Astrology has the 3 interpersonal planets in conjunction to Pluto adding another layer to the Pluto transit of Aquarius: power, control, starting over on better footing. Is success empowering you or are you feeling like a sell out? Is your success and what you’ve done for it a reflection of the true you? Pluto in Aquarius in your 10th house sits square to the first. It’s self in relation to success: what to choose, what aligns with who we are, where we won’t go or what we won’t do. Where we draw the line.
Pluto will show you the shadow side of success. This includes superiors and people in authority. Where does the power lie? Are you in control or is someone else calling all the shots? You might start by visualizing what a successful you looks like.
Gemini
For you, February is focused on everything foreign and mind expanding. There are 5 planets and a New Moon there! Foreigners, foreign travel, foreign languages, academia, philosophy, the law, publishing, media, organized religion, mass communication, doctrines and propaganda.
The Pluto story of the next 20 years takes place here and these are the first acts. What is your truth? Your beliefs? Are you empowered by them or weakened? Are they yours or someone else’s, dictated to you? The 9th house, related to Sagittarius, your opposite sign interestingly, is about the big picture. You will explore the big questions about life and your place in it. What could be more empowering? Are you trying to broaden your horizons through travel or study? Maybe a publishing project where you speak your truth through story, fiction or not.
Cancer
In February there are 5 planets, including Pluto, in the area of wealth you come to through another. A partner’s wealth, shares, shared property, financing, scholarships, debt. Also inheritances and legacies. Where does the power lie? Is money given to you/shared with you/borrowed empowering you or are strings attached? Are your choices dictated by the debt you carry? Maybe you have a bad money relating style, and money is a source of disempowerment. Perhaps you are thinking of the power of leaving a legacy.
Pluto is there for 20 years to show you how to be in control and what needs to change. His conjunctions to the personal planets this month will be part of that overall story.
Leo
The Pluto in Aquarius story intensifies this month. This is your 7th house of committed, one-on-one partnerships. This includes a business partner and can also be a very close friend or mentor. It is also the opposition. Who is across from us in the boardroom or the bedroom.
A New Moon, Mercury, Mars and Venus join the Sun and Pluto. As the personal planets conjunct Pluto, you will see this play out this in different ways. Is a partnership making you feel empowered? Or are you without any control? Who has to go? Or maybe your relationship style has to change. ‘Is it me or them?’ Maybe you have all the power but there is a shadow side to that. If you’re single, Pluto’s 20 years in Aquarius can bring intense transformative relationships with people who will show you how power and control play out between 2 individuals.
Virgo
Virgo, your ruler Mercury, along with the Sun, a New Moon, Mars, Venus and Pluto are in your area of work, both paid and unpaid, including school workload if being a student is your job. This also concerns tenants and employees. It is health, lifestyle, habits and routines. It is the house associated with your sign.
If you are not in control here, if demands outweigh what you can or want to do, if you have been carrying bad habits, Pluto will empower your over the next 20 years. Maybe this is walking away from bad lifestyle choices (anything from smoking to overwork to social media) or bad job environment and taking your control back. The conjunctions to Mars, Venus and Mercury will begin to show you how.
Libra
Libra, the Astrology in February is all about romance, children, creating and what you do for fun and entertainment (pastimes, pleasure pursuits, events you attend). But also exploring power dynamics. Who or what is empowering or disempowering you? Maybe it’s time to end something that is not working. Someone has to leave. Maybe you’re the one who needs to change your relationship style with children or romantic partners.
The 5th house is very much about our individual self expression. Gotta be me! Are you doing that? Do you know what that looks like? Pluto will show you in the coming years. This month, there will be 5 planets in that area and a New Moon. When they conjunct Pluto those power and control issues will play out in different ways.
Scorpio
Pluto, the Sun, a new Moon, Mercury, Mars and Venus in your area of home and family. This is your created family or family of origin. Thus it includes family traditions and ways of doing things. We associated the 4th house to the father figure and paternal traditions.
So much of who we are stems from our first family. It is our foundation, either solid or shaky. Pluto shows you where family empowers or disempowers: dynamics interactions, relational patterns. If there is anywhere we are cast into a role that is hard to break out of, I have found it is in relation to family.
The 4th is also your hometown, region or homeland. Are you in a place, literally, that is hindering you or you have outgrown? Time to move on? Mercury, Mars and Venus will conjunct Pluto on their arrival and the story will be repeated in different ways.
Sagittarius
Pluto will make a long trek through your house of communications. Our written and spoken words, in person or online. It is text, emails, blogs but also letter writing and rumors and gossip. This area is siblings, relatives, our local travels and primary education. It is the house that sits across yours in the natural chart.
Are you being heard? Is your message understood? Or is what you say disregarded and people keep on and nothing changes? What is your style of communication? Don’t forget, this is self-talk and thought processes also. How do you speak to yourself? Pluto will show you what is giving you power and what is sabotaging it. As the other planets conjunct Pluto this story will play out over again in different ways showing what needs to change.
Capricorn
February sees the Mercury, Mars, Venus and the New Moon join the Sun and Pluto in your house of wealth and income. This is also property, food, resources and valuables. What Pluto is here to do over the next 20 years will be shown this month in glimpses with the new Moon, and conjunctions to the personal planets.
The whole money is power dynamic will be explores over the comings years, the empowering side as well as the shadow.Does your self-esteem depend on your wealth? Do you need stuff to feel powerful? What do you really value? How much control does money have over you? This applies also to your resources in general. Do you have any or are you at the mercy of others? Pluto is a sovereign power and all about self-control, self-mastery, self-reliance.
Additional Events in February
The February astrology will continue to see an ongoing sextile between Jupiter and Saturn. Jupiter brings opportunities and blessing, Saturn is the detailed work, the solid foundation to make them into something real. The Sun and Mercury will conjunct Saturn on their arrival in Pisces, on the 18th and 23rd respectively. This is focus and attention and ideas turned to the nitty-gritty work, the energy to just slog through it (maybe it’s red tape) and get it done.
The Sun and New Moon on the 9th in Aquarius will square Uranus, planet of disruptions. Uranus is the modern ruler of Aquarius. The is an urge to start something new or a new way of doing things that is very different. Something that is really outside the box. There could definitely be a technology aspect. Maybe showing up on an online platform, or one that is a little more fringe.
